About the Artist
Stacey Evans is a photographer who works in cultural heritage imaging and maintains an art practice to navigate personal growth and reflection. She grew up in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, a region where diverse landscapes converge—rural, small town urban, industrial, and suburban. Heavily influenced by this place and scenery, her creative process involves landscape, nature, seasonal change, and, the ways humans occupy and transform space.
Her path into photography began in middle school as a yearbook photographer, sparking a passion that led her to earn a BFA in photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design. She has since held adjunct faculty positions at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and Piedmont Virginia Community College. She maintains a freelance business and works at the University of Virginia Library.
Stacey’s work is held in both public and private collections. She lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, with her husband and fellow artist, John Grant.
